First: About the picture :
This was Brenda in 1970-71 hanging out at her parents place on Long Island, she’s passing me a joint. This picture is raw but it’s a happy memory. I’m clean and sober over forty years and I still enjoy a contact high. “It’s alright ma”. —- Here’s the song and it’s a long one.
This blog is the product of a few decades of learning, longing, loving, losing, winning, feasting, fasting, striving, respecting and surrendering to the spark that ignited the universe and all that it contains. In 1980 I began abstaining from all mind altering substances and trying to understand myself. Although I may credit some alcoholics and other addicted folks who have admitted their powerlessness, this is not about those fellowships that end their names with “Anonymous”. To avoid violating their twelfth tradition I will not post their names. Some of us owe our lives and some of our character to members who serve themselves by serving us. With that said I use complete names so we know who is who. I mean, like, “how many Mikes do you know?”
What this site offers is information that I have come across that interests me and may interest others. It consists of authors, poets, artists, articles on a variety of topics, posts of a personal nature and posts on politics and government. I’m still considering a Privacy Policy. The ones that I have generated with on-line services are too much for me. For now I collect nothing from you to share or sell. Now if you send me pictures of your spouse naked all I’ll do is enjoy them and know that you are fortunate.
I’ve been working on web sites for a couple of decades primarily with WordPress. None of those sites were actual blogs. Working for clients occasionally was stressful. Now I have come to rely, almost exclusively, on Google and have found Bluehost to provide blog hosting with email on Google Workspace; a bit pricey but very tidy. I’m trying to use my own pictures but occasionally can’t find something appropriate. Most if not all links open in a new tab. I link to other sites: Wikipedia, YouTube for videos and music and others. What you find may depend on your relationship with those sites. What I see may not be what you see. That’s how it’s done.
There are some times when I wonder why I’m doing this, but I’m 80 (LXXX) years old and retired over twenty years. I’m live very simply on a tight budget but I get bored. Blogging occupies and interests me and occasionally I have a clear vision.
To be a proper blog I believe that this site needs a theme, purpose, topic of focus and reason to exist.
